    Summary:

    The Hardscape Foreman is responsible for installation and management of hardscaping projects. The foreman is responsible for completing landscape and hardscape installations with great precision and business minded efficiency. The Landscape Construction Foreman plans, organizes and delivers top quality client and staff experiences. Primary focus is to produce and oversee all construction 'swork as planned, while managing product, schedule, customer, and crew, with highly efficient and repeatable systems and best practices.

    The duties of this job require a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. Drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results that meet these established criteria are necessary for successful job performance. The job environment is structured, and job expectations are clear. While the pace of the work is faster than average, quality is never compromised. The focus of communication and organizational relationships is based on technical expertise. The work requires specialized technical problem solving and ingenuity while working within approved organizational systems and technology, and the demonstration of the values of integrity, quality, and caution. New ideas and concepts are also important but will be carefully analyzed and tested before communication and adoption. If the job involves managing others, there is a need for someone who can exercise the necessary authority to assure policies and procedures are followed and time frames are met. At the same time, it will be necessary to give subordinates structured opportunities to develop their own expertise and capability for quality work to assure effective delegation and shared responsibility for work output. It is expected that coaching and training support for achieving effective delegation will be required. The position encompasses a defined span of control and opportunity for someone who engenders trust, demonstrates a sense of urgency, and assures consistent achievement of quality standards. The work requires making decisions that support company guidelines authoritatively and quickly.

    Detail Overview of Responsibilities:

    Manage the execution of construction projects, planning labor requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within deadlines

    Efficiently and effectively track all KPI’s on a project with efficient record keeping

    Demonstrate efficient time management and production process for crew

    Manage safety, quality, and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard

    Assist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project including coordination with subcontractors

    Meet with subcontractors and supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines

    Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the day-to-day work activities of a landscape construction crew of up to 5 employees. Schedule and perform daily huddles and set daily goals for the crew and identify the priorities.

    Know the waste calculator and effectively eliminate applicable waste

    Delegate job tasks to crew members to assist in the completion of landscape constructions with the right people in the right position with the right talent

    Schedule and execute quarterly performance evaluations and skill assessments

    Perform training and mentorship to new employees

    Perform disciplinary procedures and fill out proper paperwork.

    Efficiently and safely operate various tools and equipment, including: heavy equipment (excavator, skid steer, mini loader, track wheelbarrow), chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.

    Effectively demonstrate proper grading requirements for all installations, demonstrating proper “future proofing”

    Assist in the construction start to finish of segmental retaining walls, brick patios, slate patios, ponds, lawn and garden, landscape lighting, landscape curbing etc.

    Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis

    Read and interpret scaled designs, structural drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities

    Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas

    Complete and submit all required paperwork or electronic logs on a daily basis, including: daily site meeting logs, crew daily forms (material/labor planning), equipment daily inspection forms, attendance tracking, time and materials billing summaries, requests for time off, etc.

    Taking the appropriate measurements for material take-offs. Calculating estimated vs. actual

    Before and after photos of areas worked for that day for proof documentation with detailed, legible notes added to the project file on the drive. Explain the importance of photo documentation

     Perform highly physical installation work on a consistent basis

    SUPERVISION

    This person will have supervisory duties including directing and overseeing work performed by their team, preparing required documentation, training, disciplinary and performance management.

    *Physical demands require constantly moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to perform work. Frequently operates machinery and will use hands/fingers and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials. Frequently required to stand and walk, lift and/or move up to 50 to over 100 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Constantly required to communicate with the ability to talk and listen. Job will require constantly working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements. This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy, exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour based on expeirence

    Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
