**Job Summary:
** The Maintenance Technician provides technical knowledge for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex equipment and process issues. They perform emergency repairs on equipment in a quick, efficient, and safe manner, while prioritizing tasks to sustain plant operations and production.
Position Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain machinery, equipment, and processes to improve plant operations. Demonstrated expertise in advanced troubleshooting and resolution of system-wide or area-wide, chronic problems in processes and products.
Ensures daily checks and logging of equipment operations, assuring safe and efficient operations as well as maintenance of all machinery, equipment, and processes.
Ensure optimum efficiency of all plant equipment and processes through preventive/predictive methods.
Optimizes preventive maintenance procedures and performs these tasks on assigned systems. Focuses on completion of CMMS generated PM’s and assigned Work Orders.
Maintain an “inspection-ready” side with respect to operational and environmental compliance.
Identifies and eliminates the root cause of failures and provides long-term, permanent solutions to recurring problems. Is driven to go beyond routine thinking and devise new approaches to problems.
Maintain skill levels and certifications necessary in the performance of assigned duties by participating in training and other developmental opportunities.
Provides support, leadership, and training to associates by serving as a “Subject Matter Expert”.
Takes ownership in maintenance and implementation of technical documentation, user information services and in-house technical knowledge base systems to improve the efficiency of the department.
Conducts technical training courses with associates for new equipment, software, or technology after receiving training classes. Interacts with internal parties and vendors to develop training course content, ensure that course material reflects current technologies and specifications.
Is an expert technical resource and can train other team members.
Represents utilities in cross-functional meetings to provide experience from a technical point of view.
Follows all Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) for the area worked.
Ensure personal safety, food safety, and quality protocols are followed, especially with a focus on adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
Utilizes all food safety and food security guidelines, including Safe Quality Foods (SQF) good manufacturing practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control points.
Consistently meet production needs and goals while making effort to minimize product shrink and downtime.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Must be 21 years of age
3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Tech in a Food and Beverage, Chemical, or pharmaceutical plant preferred
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Experience in a food and beverage manufacturing preferred
Experience with CMMS
Basic electrical knowledge for checking Ohms and mV readings on certain parts
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
Must have good job performance and attendance records
Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance tools
Proficient with mechanical, electrical and controls/PLC systems
Understanding of plant design and utility engineering standards
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
Excellent math skills
Understanding of CIP and sanitary standards
Understanding of process flow
Must have great attention to detail, essential problem-solving methods, and initiative
Must have the ability to learn and apply policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines
Must have the ability to receive, understand and proactively respond to direction from supervisors/managers and other members of leadership
Must have the ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
Must be able to read, recognize and speak the English language
Must be able to work overtime when needed

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, and working in awkward positions. While assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Ability to work in winter and summer indoor weather conditions.
