Safety Specialist

Job Level : Associate

Location : Salt Lake City, UT. (Required travel to Boise ID, Reno NV, Denver CO)

Shift : Full-time (40-45 hours)

Compensation: $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr

For travel: Per diem, Company vehicle and gas card, a mix of flying and driving, hotels.

Position Summary:

Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure employee safety and compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical). Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and handling of hazardous material. Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.

Essential Duties:

• Field Safety Audits
• Safety trainings/ coaching
• Reporting of findings/ fixes
• Develops job hazard analyses
• Follow Blue Raven Solar's policies and safety Manual
• Travel to assigned markets

Key Competencies:

Note: certifications may be finished within 30 days of employment

• 2+ years of solar or safety related experience OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Fall Protection Competent Person Trainer Certificate
• NFPA 70E Train the Trainer
• Good hygiene, clean, organized promoter of the brand.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs.
• Climbing and descending a ladder multiple times per day
• Standing, sitting, kneeling, multiple times an hour.
• Can work in inclement weather
• Prior roofing/Solar installation experience or residential construction preferred but not required
