DoubleTree by Hilton Front Royal Blue Ridge Shadows is seeking an experienced chef to help cater for all of our banquet & conference events. As a Sous Chef you would be primarily responsible for the planning, organizing, controlling, and directing the work of employees in Banquet & Houlihan's Kitchen Department, and overseeing the food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency all times.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review banquet event orders on a daily basis and make note of any changes
- Brief the kitchen staff daily about upcoming and current functions
- Ensuring promptness, freshness, and quality of dishes
- Designing new recipes, planning menus, and selecting plate presentations
- Coordinate banquet production and plating
- Effectively communicate with all departments
- Take physical inventory of specified foods items for daily inventory
- Assis the hotel's sales & catering staff with banquets, parties, and other special events
- Manage all day-to-day operations of the kitchen
- Plan and manage food quantities and plating requirements for all functions
- Maintains food preparations handling and correct storage standards
- Follow proper handling and right temperature on all food products
- Ability to plan and execute multiple functions
- Able to enhance the culinary experience of banquet, restaurant, or event guests
- Able to perform other duties as assigned by management
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and food preparation techniques
- Excellent knowledge of BOH systems, ordering and inventory
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Able to work flexible hours and days
- Knowledge of current and updated culinary trends
