    BlueConduit, a water analytics social enterprise, pioneered the predictive modeling approach to lead service line identification and replacement. Through our Platform-as-a-Service offering, utilities, municipalities, government agencies, and consultants standardize, predict, report, and communicate key information about lead pipes. BlueConduit was founded in 2019 and operates out of Ann Arbor, MI.

    Our service offering enables utilities to focus their resources on digging where the lead is. Digging in the right place accelerates the removal of this significant health concern and saves millions of dollars in avoided digs. Since 2016, BlueConduit has worked with more than 200 cities and inventoried over 2 million service lines, saving our customers over $300M and years of added work.

    Job Description

    BlueConduit is hiring a Business Development Representative to generate new business opportunities by qualifying incoming inquiries and prospecting using cold email, cold calling, social selling, and networking. BDR candidates must possess a hunter mentality and have a desire to thrive within a competitive and growing market. This is a junior position with the potential for advancement.

    As a BDR at BlueConduit, you will work with our sales and marketing teams to manage incoming inquiries, strategize and execute targeted outreach campaigns, and generate demand and new leads for BlueConduit's products and services.

    Our ideal BDR is highly skilled with a solution-selling approach and will be provided with training and tools to enable success. You'll be juggling lots of opportunities at the same time – so being organized and having a positive outlook is key.     Responsibilities:

    • Use a solution-selling approach to uncover and qualify opportunities to progress along in the sales funnel.
    • Determine customer needs and expectations in order to position our solutions effectively
    • Schedule appointments with prospects and lead virtual sales discovery meetings
    • Research and find decision makers within key industries and new target accounts
    • Document and track all correspondence through Hubspot
    • Effectively communicate BlueConduit's value proposition, capabilities, and benefits to prospective customers.
    • Effectively convey the impact of drinking water legislation and policies to prospects
    • Work closely with sales leadership to develop and execute strategies to meet sales targets.
    • Prepare sales proposals and support contract operations.
    • Coordinate with other departments within the organization to ensure customer needs are met and projects are delivered successfully.
    • Work with marketing to create and execute demand-generation campaigns
    • Demonstrate integrity and follow through on commitments to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Travel to conferences and various events on behalf of BlueConduit

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in inside sales or a similar SDR/BDR role, preferably in the technology and/or public sector industry
    • Proven experience in solution-selling and building relationships with key stakeholders
    • Familiarity with sales techniques and processes, including lead generation, prospecting, and qualifying leads
    • Ability to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and quotas
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
    • Experience working with state and local government/municipalities/utilities
    • Understanding of government procurement processes
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Experience using Hubspot and Google Suite
    • Experience with proposal preparation and submissions is a plus
    • Water industry knowledge a plus
    • Understanding of federal regulation and compliance requirements a plus
    • Must be eligible to work in the US

    Travel:

    Some travel will be expected in this role, attending occasional conferences and trade shows across the US.

    Location:

    Remote (Nationwide) with preference for drivable distance from SE Michigan or Buffalo NY.

    Desired working hours are Eastern/Central Time Zone.

    Reports to: Vice President of Sales

    Compensation and Benefits:

    • Base Salary range $60,000-85,000, depending on level and experience - plus sales incentives and bonuses based on activities (OTE $80,000 - $105,000)
