Job Description

Conducts work to assist and support the design engineers in the procurement, design, development, and testing of products in engineering while supporting overall company goals and objectives. Lead contact with production and assembly teams to complete “Customs” projects from fabrication to shipment.

Qualifications

Education:       

• Associate’s degree in technical field or relevant work experience. (Or in process of obtaining a technical degree)

Experience:     

• One to five years of manufacturing and assembly experience.

Skills/Abilities:            

• Effective communicative and writing skills
• Able to follow directions and drive projects with minimal supervision
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
• PC computer operational skills
• CAD software experience (SolidWorks preferred)
• Windows Office products experience

ESSENTIAL RESULTS:

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to lead projects of limited scope and impact or portions of a major project.
• Will be able to read and interpret drawings, BOMs, and instructions to coordinate with engineering and manufacturing in the development of prototypes.
• Assist design engineers with all aspects of prototyping and testing.
• Uses good judgment in the planning, scheduling, and coordinating of all project phases.
• Ability to perform multiple tests on products such as weight load test, tip test, electrical test, temperature data collecting, and aid with creating test result reports.
• Complete assembly, testing, and packaging requirements based on products designed.
• Assist the design engineers in developing drawings in SolidWorks when required.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and working in a shop environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance. Anything above 30 lbs. requires a team lift.
• Must be able to reach above shoulder level, waist level and below waist
• Must be able to use a pallet jack, lift equipment, and weight plates with a chain hoist/gantry crane (Certified through Peerless-AV).
• Must be able to use hand tools; cordless drill/driver and pneumatic rivet gun.
• Must be able to work in non-dust/non-climate-controlled areas.
• Must be able to wear required safety PPE.
