The Print Shop Coordinator must be a highly motivated and detailed-oriented individual to join our team as an Print Coordinator in San Francisco. As the Print Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our print production operations, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality print materials. If you are organized, have excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this position is for you. The Print Shop Coordinator must be organized, committed, hardworking and persistent, strict attention to detail is critical. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a sign shop or print production environment, especially with cutting and installing various substrates. An interest in graphic design and familiarity with printing materials and processes is beneficial.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
At Minimum Duties & Responsibilities
Serves as the administrative liaison between the Sales, Operations, Creative Departments, Print Supplier, and Field Operations.
Assisting the Print Production and Graphics Manager in overseeing the entire print production process, from initial planning to final delivery.
Collaborating with internal teams, such as graphic designers, marketing and sales, to gather print project requirements and specifications.
Coordinating with external vendors, including printers and suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and manage print production timelines.
Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of print production materials, including layouts, prepress files and artwork proofs.
Conducting quality checks on printed materials to ensure they meet the company’s standards and client expectations.
Maintaining an organized database of print specifications, vendor contacts and production records.
Tracking and managing print production budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
Assisting in resolving any issues or challenges that arise during the print production process, communicating effectively with stakeholders to find solutions.
Staying updated on industry trends, new printing technologies, and best practices to enhance the print production process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At Minimum Training, Education & Experience
An Associates Degree in graphic design, print production, or related field is preferred.
Proven experience in print production coordination or similar role.
Strong knowledge of print production processes, including prepress, offset printing, digital printing, and finishing techniques.
Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and print production software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
Problem-solving skills and ability to handle and resolve challenges efficiently.
Knowledge of print industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Familiarity with project management principles and tools. Previous experience with project management software a plus.
