    JOB DESCRIPTION – LAB TECHNICIAN

    A part-time technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kunda in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. John's University. The laboratory technician will provide assistance to ongoing formulation and drug delivery research in Dr. Kunda’s lab, especially on developing nanoparticle-based, temperature-stable, inhalable dry powder vaccine

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    A Bachelor's degree in a scientific field is required.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    Candidate should have prior experience working in a science laboratory. Please include your CV with your application.

    • Bachelor’s degree in discipline related to functional work or role with 5+ years of relevant work experience at an agency, corporate in-house or design firm.
    • Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems.
    • Must be able consistently identify critical elements, variables and alternatives to develop solutions.
    • Organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information to implement the most effective solutions.
    • Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate when solving problems.
    • Possess an impactful portfolio of imaginative work across multiple business channels including corporate/industrial branding, collateral, POS/POP, retail, annual reports, packaging and B2B/B2C campaigns.
    • Well versed on Macintosh platform (OSX) and industry standard applications: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, MS Office and Photoshop. Flash and HTML a plus but not required. Must be highly proficient in CS3 Design software and other applicable programs.
    • Train junior level designers and production artists in the use of tools and/or systems for their role.
    • Excellent communication skills clearly translating messages, policies and procedures that are easy for others to understand.
    • Ability to craft communication to match the appropriate level of targeted audience.
    • Strong understanding of messaging impact to the organization or customer.
    • Capable of writing with clarity and precision necessary for project expectations and work performed.
