Job Description

Perform x-rays for diagnostic purposes. Follow established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to x-ray room, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during scan.
2. Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
3. Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
4. Take preventative steps to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation.
5. Closely follow provider instructions, prepare radiography equipment, position patients, and obtain optimal images for diagnosis.
6. Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to Clinic Manager or supervisor.
7. Perform related administrative duties including documentation of x-ray completion in Electronic Health Record and send radiographs to contracted imaging center for over read as requested by the provider.
8. Retrieve radiologic orders from and input related data into the electronic medical record.
9. Maintain adequate radiologic supplies.

Qualifications

1. Must have completed a Radiology Technology program
2. Current Medical Radiographer License in the state of Nebraska
3. Strong Computer skills required
4. Good oral and written communication skills
5. Highly organized, attentive to detail, quality, and accuracy.
6. Ability to work under pressure
7. Team-oriented and energetic
8. Strong commitment to customer service and professionalism

10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
