IMPACT:
Bluestone Analytics is seeking a JR. DEVOPS ENGINEER to join our Product Engineering team to support our suite of products with excellent infrastructure and innovative solutions. This role will be responsible for managing our cloud resources, including resolving bugs and outages in existing components and developing new systems to improve our products’ availability, scalability, and performance. We use a wide range of cloud services, from databases to serverless functions to traditional ALBs and proxies, and this role will become familiar with, and then take ownership, of all of these. The ideal candidate is eager to learn quickly, comfortable taking initiative to solve problems beyond their current skill set, and is productive working independently, while also actively engaging their team to support others, respond to requests, seek help and ask questions, and keep others informed of their work. We move fast, and this role will ensure we don’t break anything.
IN A TYPICAL WEEK, YOU MAY:
Build and manage infrastructure for our entire stack, from DNS to databases.
Implement comprehensive logging and monitoring and be the first line of defense responding to alerts.
Support our Product team with code deployments and develop a CI/CD pipeline that enables safer, faster deployments.
Live in terminals on Linux boxes.
Lead the development and implementation of improved system and networking designs for our products and supporting services.
Grep through obscure logs to find the critical piece of information that explains a bug.
Document our systems and best practices for managing them.
Stay current on trends and topics in your discipline and our industry, with a view to push us forward and keep improving our business.
Automate, automate, automate.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Associate or Bachelor's degree
1-5 years of experience in a DevOps, Software Engineer, Systems/Network engineer role or similar
Must be authorized to work in the US and ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN A SECURITY CLEARANCE.
Strong experience with AWS services, Linux-based infrastructures, and Linux/Unix administration.
Experience with NoSQL databases like Elasticsearch.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, and tools for automation and configuration
Great debugging skills – you don’t give up on problems
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
NICE TO HAVE:
Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
Experience with Python scripting or software development.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with API’s to include building endpoints, querying, development, and maintenance.
Knowledge building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
