    Manager/Director, Diversity and Compliance - Huntsville, AL

    This Diversity and Compliance management role is expected to lead the development, implementation and management of the Company’s global affirmative action program and diversity efforts. This individual will be involved in data collection and analysis, maintenance of records and the preparation and submission of required internal and external reports. Key to the success of this position is a commitment to diversity and equity, with the ability to effectively communicate goals and objectives to all levels of the organization.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Responsible for all aspects of developing and administering the Company affirmative action plan; conduct availability analysis, utilization analysis, statistical analyses and prepare written narrative 
    • Prepare applicable government reports, such as EEO-1, VETS-100 or provide relevant data in response to internal and external requests 
    • Develop and conduct training programs with managers on diversity, affirmative action and reporting obligations 
    • Identify areas of improvement and suggest methods to improve Company policies, procedures and activities 
    • Develop and implement best practices for job posting, job descriptions, recruitment, employee assessment and other human resource tools to promote a diverse workforce, diverse candidate slates, and improve the pipeline 
    • Work with external consultants as needed to oversee and provide data for the plan 
    • Identify new recruitment sources in all Company locations, in order to build pools of diverse candidates for open and anticipated positions 
    • Monitor and assess the Company’s progress in complying with laws concerning discrimination and affirmative action 
    • Develop and recommend outreach efforts and programs designed to enhance the recruitment and successful retention of employees from diverse and under-represented groups 
    • Participate in audits and reviews of policies, practices, and departments to enhance inclusion and diversity practices, ensure compliance with anti-discrimination laws, and reduce bias 
    • Conduct annual harassment and other types of training programs 
    • Assist the Vice President of Global Human Resources and Legal counsel in responding to allegations of discrimination or other types of complaints; may conduct investigations, gather relevant data and/or prepare written responses and maintain appropriate documentation 
    • Manage sensitive and confidential matters and protect the security of information, data, and files 
    • Respect the privacy of the personal information of patients, co-workers, and all individuals with whom the Company interacts 
    • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the Company and its operations

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business or a related field 
    • Minimum of 5 years recent experience in developing, maintaining and updating Affirmative Action plans, government reports (EEO-1, VETS-100) and other diversity initiatives 
    • In-depth understanding of and adherence to federal and state laws that require affirmative action (Executive Order 11246) and equal opportunity, including the prohibition of discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, genetic information, protected veteran status and any other status protected by applicable state or federal law in all areas in which the Company does business or has employees 
    • Ability to complete high-level analysis of complex and diffuse data sets, including human resource information systems 
    • Multi-divisional, Multi-Location and International experience required 
    • Experience resolving grievances and complaints 
    • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
    • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills 
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks 
    • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Google Docs 
    • Proven record of forging strong and effective relationships with managers and other internal stakeholders 
    • Ability to utilize skill in diplomacy and persuasion 
    • Ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a collaborative team 
    • Thrive in a challenging and results-oriented work environment

    This job is performed primarily in an office environment, with occasional travel to site locations. The majority of the work day is spent either sitting or standing. Duties require the ability to communicate clearly with internal or external contacts both verbally and in writing.
