    Position Description

    The Business Development Director - 3PL and Pharmacy Solutions is a sales hunter position targeting pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers primarily in Rare Disease and Specialty Therapeutics markets. This position is responsible for partnering and prospecting with new accounts and advance leads in support of achieving new business revenue and other goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support sales of company's products/services to prospective pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers through proactive targeting and outreach to drive new 3PL business that meet or exceeds sales team objectives.
    • Achieve/exceed shared sales team quota targets as assigned
    • Proactively identifies opportunities with manufacturer accounts
    • In close collaboration with Supply Chain, IT, Marketing and Sales Divisions drive partnership identification and engagement, secure meetings with key Pharma decision makers through personalized outreach 
    • Focus on “filling the funnel” for the company resulting in material revenue growth
    • Articulate value proposition of products / services at a high level with key messaging
      • Maintain post-sales engagement with Account Management to ensure continued success and help identify upsell opportunities
      • Builds and sustains a pipeline of new business leads, recording progress with prospects in CRM
      • Identifies and qualifies opportunities based on key criteria (e.g. prospects’ description of business need)
      • Maximizes time spent cultivating and contacting leads to build the funnel / pipeline
    • Seeks out and/or identifies new business processes to increase qualified lead generation
    • Attends and supports industry trade shows, company sponsored and/or internal company meetings as needed.

    Minimum Requirements

    Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience

    Critical Skills

    • Minimum 4 years healthcare sales or customer facing experience to pharmaceutical and biotech companies (including sales/cold-calling experience, possibly in a quota-carrying role)
    • Innovative /creative approach to generate qualified leads in a B2B environment
    • Self-starter with a proven track record to meet and/or exceed targets with drive for achievement
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
    • A good understanding of the sales/buying cycle; ability to assess sales opportunities is a plus
    • Able to handle rejection and persevere
    • Strong communication skills (remote and/or in-person)
    • Ability to leverage high level knowledge of the customer’s targeted medications
    • Team player with strong interpersonal and resource management skills.
    • Ability to work with a CRM system and ease of use with applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Teams and Word.

    Specialized Knowledge/Skills

    • Specialty pharmaceutical/Biotech industry knowledge and experience with a variety of commercialization products and services, highly desired

    Education

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

    • Travel required up to 50% of time.
