Job Title: Payroll and Benefits Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Admin REPORTS TO: Controller
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Hourly
JOB OVERVIEW:
Blythe Mechanical is currently seeking a PAYROLL AND BENEFITS SPECIALIST to join our team. You will process multiple payrolls including union and non-union employees for over 100 employees and administer employee benefit services.

Blythe Mechanical has been serving the Pacific Northwest for over 100 years. Whether the project is a large industrial facility or small commercial office building, Blythe has the knowledge and skill to design, build, service and install plumbing, piping and HVAC systems for our customer’s application. Blythe performs new construction, remodel, repair and service for a wide range of mechanical systems. Mechanical work installed and serviced includes plumbing and piping systems, mechanical rooms, HVAC equipment and sheet metal, and commercial and industrial refrigeration including ammonia systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data
Process and performs tasks necessary to run Payroll for weekly, bi-weekly and monthly cycles
Process new hires/terminations and maintains employee data
Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations including prevailing wages
Prepare, audit and review weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll reporting
Prepare, audit and review timely year end reporting
Ensures accuracy of payroll related items for union employees
Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes
This position is responsible for providing employee benefits services for retirement, health
insurance, Worker’s Compensation, COBRA and HSA accounts.

Problem solving and conflict resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years’ experience processing payroll
Experience with construction accounting preferred
CPP or FCP preferred but not required
Experience with Union Collective Bargaining Agreements
Proficiency in Union pay policies and employer paid benefits taxation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Experience with ComputerEase accounting software is a plus
