Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiology Physician to provide comprehensive cardiology services at a federal healthcare facility in the Southeastern United States. This is a full-time clinical opportunity for an experienced cardiologist to deliver both invasive and non-invasive cardiac care to a diverse patient population, including veterans and federal beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cardiovascular evaluations, diagnostic workups, and treatment planning
- Interpret echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitors, and cardiac catheterization results
- Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions including heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and valvular disorders
- Perform and interpret invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures as credentialed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams including primary care, surgery, and emergency medicine
- Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology consultations
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic health record systems
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical peer review
- Mentor and provide clinical guidance to residents and fellows as applicable
- Ensure compliance with all federal healthcare regulations, credentialing requirements, and clinical standards
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
- ABIM Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease (mandatory)
- Completion of ACGME-accredited Cardiology Fellowship
- Current, unrestricted medical license (active in at least one U.S. state)
- Minimum 3 years of post-fellowship clinical cardiology experience
- DEA registration and controlled substance license
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Ability to obtain credentialing and privileging at a federal healthcare facility
- Professional liability insurance
Preferred Qualifications
- Board certification in Interventional Cardiology or Electrophysiology (sub-specialty)
- Experience in federal healthcare settings
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (CPRS, VistA, or similar)
- Experience with cardiac imaging modalities (TEE, nuclear cardiology, cardiac MRI)
- Active medical license in Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, or North Carolina
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $296,000 to $374,000 based on experience and sub-specialty credentials
