Boat Assembly Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable cross-functional production line worker to join our high-end pontoon boat manufacturing team. This position requires hands-on assembly, system integration, and troubleshooting expertise across multiple boat production areas. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble, install, and inspect various boat components, including electrical, mechanical, and structural systems
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions to complete work to precise specifications
Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop machinery safely and efficiently
Troubleshoot and resolve issues during assembly or final inspection to meet quality and safety standards
Move between workstations or boat models based on production needs, providing cross-functional support
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Meet or exceed daily production goals while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship
Communicate effectively with team members, leads, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution
Support other departments or projects as assigned to ensure timely delivery of completed units
Preferred Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a team-based, hands-on manufacturing environment, preferably in the marine or recreational vehicle industry
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Extensive cross-training and hands-on experience in the manufacturing of high-end pontoon boats, including complex assemblies and finishes
Strong understanding of boat design, construction techniques, and marine manufacturing standards
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Advanced assembly and system troubleshooting skills
Keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with professionalism at all levels
Willingness to pursue continuing education, including engine OEM certifications
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, kneel, and climb in and out of boats throughout the workday
Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs consistently
Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks for 8+ hours per day
Work Ethic and Flexibility:
Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
Strong work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production goals
Flexibility to take on additional tasks or assignments as directed by leadership
