Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Body Imaging Radiologist to support the NIH Clinical Center, the nation’s premier biomedical research hospital. The Radiologist will primarily focus on X-ray (XR), Ultrasound (US), and general body imaging studies for NIH investigators, clinical teams, and research protocols. Key Responsibilities
• Interpret X-ray, Ultrasound, and general Body Imaging studies.
• Provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports for clinical and research needs.
• Collaborate with NIH physicians, investigators, and research staff.
• Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Communicate findings clearly to clinical teams.
• Provide guidance to trainees and fellows as needed.
• Support imaging research protocols and NIH documentation requirements.
• Maintain compliance with NIH imaging standards and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
Required:
• MD or DO degree.
• Completed ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency.
• Fellowship in Body Imaging or Abdominal Imaging preferred.
• ABR Board Certified or Board Eligible.
• Valid, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
• Strong proficiency in X-ray and Ultrasound interpretation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred:
• Experience in academic or research hospital settings.
• Familiarity with imaging research protocols or NIH workflows.
Work Schedule
• Standard NIH hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
• Flexibility possible based on NIH requirements.
• Occasional rotational on-call support may be requested.
