    TAX ACCOUNTANT - PUBLIC ACCOUNTING

    Immediate opening for a Tax Accountant at an exceptional CPA firm located at the beach! Full-time position, overtime required during busy seasons.  Competitive wage commensurate with experience. 

     

    Job brief

    We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to prepare tax returns and other related filings for operating partnerships, upper-tier partnerships, corporations, exempt organizations, LLCs, and individuals. 

    The ideal candidate should possess all of the following:

    •             A winner's attitude that enjoys working with a successful team of professionals centered on providing high quality work with exceptional attention to detail and technical research skills. 

    •             Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics.

    •             Experience using Lacerte, Gosystem, RIA Checkpoint for research, BNA Income Tax Planner and Microsoft Office.

    •             Complete professional attitude maintaining honesty, integrity and ethical behavior at all times.

    •             Ability to successfully manage multiple client projects. 

     

    Responsibilities

    •             Deliver high quality work in a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within required client, investor and taxing authority deadlines, including working necessary hours to ensure all of these deadlines are met.

    •             Prepare tax returns and tax workpapers.

    •             State tax research for partnerships including tax filing requirements, withholding and apportionment.

    •             Analyze general ledgers for fixed assets additions.

    •             Prepare and review various state partnership returns for nonresident withholding issues.  Prepare withholding forms and tax payment forms as required.

    •             Collect and track electronic filing forms and electronically file tax returns.

    •             Prepare federal and state partnership extensions.

    •             Take responsibility for and effective use of firm resources to complete projects in a timely fashon.

    •             Take responsibility for productivity and activities of subordinates, including effectively delegating work, providing regular performance feedback as well as delivering timely performance evaluations.

    •             Work with co workers to train them, answer questions and make sure returns and all other projects are completed correctly and as efficiently as possible

    •             Prepare timely and accurate bills for professional services rendered including accurately accounting for all services performed.

    •             Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.

    •             Effectively communicate with supervisors and support staff.

    •             Administrative back up as needed during busy season.
