Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding and fabrication on commercial and industrial boiler shells, tubes, headers, and associated piping.
Execute arc welding (SMAW) oxyacetylene cutting as required.
Inspect boilers to identify cracks, corrosion, or damage requiring repair or replacement.
Replace boiler tubes, repair refractory linings, and perform pressure part repairs.
Ensure all work meets ASME codes and local/state safety regulations.
Operate grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools safely.
Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) prep work and assist inspectors during code-required inspections.
Maintain accurate repair logs and material usage records.
Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry procedures.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in boiler welding and repair, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding preferred.
Have or obtain FDNY F60 and G60 Certificates of Fitness
Have or obtain OSHA 30 certification
Have or obtain Confined Space training.
Have or obtain Certification in SMAW processes, 6G pipe.
Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and NBIC (National Board Inspection Code).
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
