  • Responsibilities

    You'll support the sales and ops team in the creation, review, and completion of accurate and timely pricing & cost information on our homeowner's projects.

    In addition to this, you'll be responsible for developing and managing day-to-day relationships with vendors, reviewing and managing subcontracts and helping select and purchase a variety of products, materials, and services.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Based in New York City, you will work closely with, and receive support from, Bolster's sales, finance, and admin teams to fulfill the following responsibilities for a growing volume of qualified inquiries and simultaneous projects:

    • Analyze blueprints and other instruments of design to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates and act as a resource for teams in need of quick unit costs
    • Assist in vendor and subcontractor contract negotiations and liaise with engineers, architects, homeowners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
    • Prepare estimates used by management for a variety of purposes including pricing, budget planning, and scheduling
    • Assess the cost effectiveness of products, projects or services and tracking actual costs relative to budgets as projects are delivered
    • In collaboration with the finance team, set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures and help prepare a variety of management reports

    • EXPERIENCED: You have at least 10+ years of estimating experience in high-end residential construction in NYC within co-op, condo and brownstone buildings.     EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • 10+ years of experience as an estimator with high-end residential construction in NYC
    • Working knowledge of estimating software such as Blue Beam, On-Screen Takeoff - you are also an Excel ninja and ideally have experience or understanding of Co-Construct
    • Extensive experience with comprehensive take-offs and pricing (in NYC/Brooklyn)
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management or equivalent work experience preferred
    • Well-developed communications, decision making, financial analysis, interpersonal, organizational and team work skills are required.
    • Strong ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with owners and other project stakeholders
    • NICE TO HAVE: you have a design background or have studies in architecture
