    Senior Process Engineer (Injection Molding)

    Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day production activities within the injection molding function by applying plastics engineering and principles to the design of tools, manufacturing process development, documentation, and testing for molded parts.

    Responsibilities include:

    Molding Operations line support activities as well as product / process improvements including cost reductions in the manufacturing process, support new product transfers to manufacturing, including tools transfers, support in the technology development in accordance with company strategies, support the transfer of manufacturing methods and or technologies within the company and or external business partners, develop and maintain all manufacturing documentation / work instructions.

    Serve as subject matter expert in Design for Manufacturability, Lean Methodologies / Tools, Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and product and process characterizations.

    Development of Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (pFMEA) during manufacturing process development and change. Investigates product failures and develops methods to prevent recurrence

    Implement effective technical training programs and implement effective transfer of knowledge.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Ensuring appropriate processes are utilized to ensure high product yield. Identify/perform proactive maintenance tasks.

    Ensure processes maximize product output and ensure safe, efficient operations by developing new processes and optimizing current processes.

    Troubleshoot molding issues by evaluating the molded parts, machine, support equipment, and/or raw materials in order to determine problems and optimize process.

    Lead in the technical development of injection molding technical employees

    Develop, qualify, and validate injection molding and ancillary processes/tooling for new precision parts/molds. Support existing products with sustaining process engineering for over 20 injection molding machines. Includes operation troubleshooting material, tooling, process, and equipment issues. Establish work instructions, proper Moldability ranges, manufacturing procedures, and quality control input.

    Other duties that ensure production/quality targets are achieved.

    What we are looking for: Individuals with excellent work ethic, and a desire to exceed expectations

    Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Technology, or related engineering discipline. Extensive experience and/or master molder certification may be substituted for degree requirement.

    Must have strong verifiable injection molding/tooling experience. Excellent ability to train others in technical molding process.

    Minimum of 7 years of experience providing technical support within an automotive production facility. Experience within a plating on plastics facility would be ideal.

    MUST be able to effectively work with team to manage tool/project transfers and work with management on new business.
