Licensed Social Worker needed in Philadelphia
Correctional Position
Summary
Will be involved in working with all disciplines to attain effectiveness in serving the patient population. Performs individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate. Performs administrative consultative for specialized social services as determined by the specific needs of the Institution.
JOB DUTIES
- Maintains a caseload of patients from both the inpatient and outpatient population.
- Provides therapeutic interventions on an individual and group basis as appropriate.
- Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects. May direct special projects as requested.
- Provides comprehensive social work to restore the individual to their maximum functioning capacity.
- Provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
- Participates in and conducts in-service programs, as well as assists in the orientation of new staff.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Responsible for the obtaining of information for comprehensive psychosocial history.
- Performs other related duties at the request of the Program Director.
Qualifications - Graduation from a masters level program in social work, accredited by the counsel for social work. LSW or LCSW in the state of Pennsylvania required
- Minimum of two years employment in a social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent. Correctional experience a plus.
- Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Correctional officers provide security; however, some degree of risk of verbal and physical assault from inmates exists. As in any healthcare setting, employees may be exposed to communicable and/or infectious diseases. Inside work with periodic traveling (inter and intra state) to other locations.
