    $16.82 per hour Part-Time

    Full-Time Hours: 3:30PM-11:30PM Wednesday-Sunday
    3:30PM-11:30PM Monday-Friday
    7:00AM-3:30PM Tuesday-Saturday
    7:00AM-3:30PM Saturday-Wednesday

    Part-Time Hours: 7:30AM-3:30PM Friday-Sunday
    3:00PM-11:00PM Saturday-Monday
    7:30AM-3:30PM Monday, Thursday and Friday


    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree obtained from an approved, accredited college/university in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field preferred.
    • Experience in intellectual/developmental disabilities, including programming for individuals with significant behavioral needs.
    • Knowledge of the MH and I/DD systems of care.
    • Knowledge and ability to utilize computer word processing and data programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Web-based data entry, etc.
    • Must demonstrate capacity to effectively communicate verbally and in written form.
    • Must have a valid NYS Driver's License and able to pass insurance criteria

     


    POSITION DESCRIPTION
    Position Summary:
    · The position is responsible for administration and management of NY START Therapeutic In-Home Services.
    · In addition to center-based supports, NYSTART also offers in-home therapeutic supports.
    · The goal of these supports are the same as that of the NYSTART center but are offered in the person's residence.
    · In-home supports are designed to assess and stabilize an individual in his or her natural setting.
    · This service is part of the mobile crisis capacity of NYSTART.
    · In Home Support can be accessed in an emergency or planned way and are provided by trained counselors. In-home supports are typically used.
    Essential Job Functions:

    •Provide the highest quality of care and service to all guests
    •Maintain effective, positive, and quality operations at the center
    •Assist guests to achieve personal goals; work on behalf of guests to overcome barriers; respect guests' personal beliefs, choices, and interests
    •Provide appropriate assistance to promote health and wellness; communicate with medical professionals and record information regarding health events, conditions, and status
    •Administer medications according to physician instructions
    •Provide first aid/CPR and seek emergency medical care when needed
    •Help guests with ADL’s when necessary (eating, grooming, dressing, bathing, and toileting walking/maintaining stability)
    •Serve as role model and mentor, demonstrate desired behaviors, and coach guests using approved techniques and strategies
    •Use approved physical intervention techniques when necessary to protect guests
    •Maintain cleanliness of program
    •Drive company vehicle to transport guests to activities
    •Act in a professional manner and communicate effectively with others
    •Complete training programs, attend required meetings and follow all policies and procedures of the START center
