Department: Infusions and Procedures Clinic / MedSurg
Status: Part-time/Flex, 64-72 hours per pay period
Minimum hours of position per pay period are 64 hours; Flex to 72 hours per pay period to cover planned vacations or long term absences which will be included in work schedule a minimum of two weeks in advance when possible.
Shift: Days; 8:00-4:30pm. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
POSITION SUMMARY: The Infusions and Procedures Clinic (IPC) staff RN is a registered nurse who delivers professional care to patients within the IPC Department and is directly responsible to the IPC Nurse Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides patient care related to infusion therapy, including the management of CVAD, Portacaths, Groshong, Hickman, PICC lines and peripheral IV sites
Administers blood products and provides phlebotomy service
Administration of IV infusions, including hydration and other IV therapies
Provides or assists with procedures at the direction of a physician as appropriate for the clinic setting
Delegates patient care to team members based on complexity of the level of care, staff education competency, State Regulations and BGH policy and procedures
Completes and documents the nursing admission assessment in a thorough and accurate manner as defined by department policy
Utilizes assessment skills and techniques to determine patient needs on initial visit and recurring visits, and responds appropriately
Develops and documents a plan of care based on patient’s needs assessment and medical diagnosis, setting priorities for nursing action
Performs ongoing assessment to evaluate effectiveness of care and revises plan of care based on new date and patient’s condition
Establish care priorities based on patient conditions and needs. Informs Nurse Manager and notifies physician promptly regarding patient change in condition
Initiates patient care plan according to time-frames established in department policy
Performs procedures accurately, completely and safely according to established policy/procedures and physician’s orders
Provides care with minimal supervision in a timely manner
Assesses the need for patient/family instruction & develops patient teaching and discharge plans as necessary and documents evidence of patient’s understanding of instructions
Provides care to prevent complication and life-threatening situations; maintains safe and effective nursing care; effectively responds to crisis situations

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
LICENSURE REQUIRED: Current State of Idaho RN license; Current BLS (AHA), Current ACLS
EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years RN experience required
