STATUS: Part-time / FLEX; 48-80 hours per pay period
Minimum hours of position per pay period is 48 hours; Flex to 80 hours per pay period to cover planned vacations or long term absences which will be included in work schedule a minimum of two weeks in advance when possible.
SHIFT: Days, Monday-Friday; 8:00a.m.-5:30p.m.; days worked will vary based on the needs of the clinic.
POSITION SUMMARY: Primary responsibility of patient care, assures safe, competent care for patients of Sandpoint Women’s Health
LPN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists physicians in all phases of patient care, including surgical procedures
Escorts patients to examination rooms
Records patient history and vital signs
Prepares and stocks rooms daily
Organizes inventory and orders medical supplies, for smooth Clinic operation
Administers medication and basic lab testing
Audits charts daily; provides follow up to patients on diagnostic tests on a daily basis
Demonstrates understanding and utilization of Standard Precautions, asepsis and infection control procedures

MEDICAL ASSISTANT ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Registers patients accurately in the practice management system and provides medical office clerical support
Provides clinical care at the direction of a licensed physician or Nurse Practitioner
Assists physicians in all phases of patient care, including surgical procedures
Responsible for ordering Ultrasounds in Meditech
Provide patient education in office visits or via telephone, as ordered by physician
Organizes inventory and orders medical supplies, working closely with the Materials Department
Calls in prescriptions as ordered
Demonstrates understanding and utilization of Standard Precautions, asepsis and infection control procedures

CNA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides clinical nursing care at the direction of a licensed physician or Nurse Practitioner
Administers basic lab testing
Provides basic patient care, monitoring, and education during office visit or by phone, as ordered by physician
Assists physicians in all phases of patient care, including surgical procedures, and calls in prescriptions as ordered
Escorts patients to examination rooms and records patient history and vital signs
Is responsible for ordering ultrasound in Meditech
Prepares and stocks rooms daily
Organizes inventory and orders medical supplies, working closely with Materials Department.
SKILLS: Autoclaving; Practice Management System Scheduling; Clear – Concise Communication. Ability to read, write legibly and comprehend the written and spoken word in English; Basic computer literacy and ability to effectively learn new software programs required
EDUCATION: Graduate of Accredited Nursing School – LPN; OR Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program with Certification or Registered Medical Assistant Certification required, successful completion of Certified Nurse’s Aide course
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (1) years’ experience providing support in a clinical capacity as an LPN, CMA, or CNA preferred
LICENSE: Current State of Idaho Licensed Practical Nurse license or AAMA certificate or registry or current Idaho CNA license; Current BLS (AHA) certification.
