Department: Health Information

Status: Full Time this position works remotely Monday through Friday

Shifts: Days 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Our Health Information Department consists of clerks and coders. This vital department is responsible for the records management for both inpatient and outpatient departments. They assist with the management of health information data including electronic and paper medical records. Our coders code and abstract all Ancillary Inpatient, Observation, Same Day Surgery and clinic records as assigned.

Education: Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Technology preferred

Experience: Two (2) years of Hospital coding experience, including E/M, HCPCS, ICD-9-CM CPT, ICD 10-CM CPT, ICD 10-PCS, Data entry of Health Record Coding, and DRG preferred. In-patient coding; Observation and Same Day Surgery experience preferred.

Licensure/certification: Required- AAPC’s Certified Professional Coder or AHIMA’s Certified Coding Specialist; American Health Information Association, RHIT within twelve (12) months of hire
