Bonsai is seeking a talented and motivated React/Next.js Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in front-end development and a deep understanding of modern web technologies. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications using React and Next.js, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to user interactions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience with React.js and Next.js.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
• Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux).
• Familiarity with newer specifications of ECMAScript (ES6+).
• Knowledge of isomorphic React and modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

About the job:

This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications using React and Next.js, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to user interactions

• Develop new user-facing features using React.js and Next.js.
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
• Collaborate with designers and back-end developers to create seamless user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain current and competitive.

Skills for the job:

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading internal (employees, contractors, vendors) and external stakeholders (clients) through web and app development, in addition to some digital marketing projects.

• Proficiency in React.js and Next.js

* Strong understanding of React fundamentals and concepts.
* Experience with Next.js for server-side rendering and static site generation.

• JavaScript Expertise

* Deep knowledge of JavaScript, including ES6+ features.
* Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.

• Front-End Development Tools

* Experience with build tools such as Babel, Webpack, and NPM.
* Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.

• Component-Based Development

* Ability to build reusable and maintainable UI components.
* Understanding of state management libraries like Redux or Context API.

• HTML/CSS

* Proficient in HTML5 and CSS3.
* Experience with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS.
* Knowledge of CSS-in-JS libraries like styled-components or Emotion.

• Responsive Design

* Strong understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles.
* Experience with cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions.

• API Integration

* Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
* Familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.

• Testing and Debugging

* Knowledge of front-end testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Cypress.
* Proficient in debugging using browser developer tools.

• Performance Optimization

* Ability to optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
* Understanding of web performance metrics and best practices.

• Code Quality and Maintainability

* Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
* Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards.
