    A&S Construction is currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be certified in QuickBooks, possess strong time management and analytical skills, and have a solid understanding of accounting principles. We're looking for someone with prior experience in bookkeeping or as an accounting clerk who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and financial integrity.     Key Responsibilities

    Maintain Financial Records: Accurately record day-to-day transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

    Reconcile Accounts: Regularly perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.

    Manage A/P and A/R: Track and process customer and vendor invoices, payments, and collections.

    Prepare Financial Reports: Generate income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for management review.

    Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets and providing financial insights for decision-making.

    Ensure Compliance: Maintain up-to-date records in accordance with accounting standards and company policies, including subcontractor documentation (e.g., Certificates of Insurance, W-9s, and required documents for payment processing).

    Support Audits: Prepare documentation and assist with internal and external audits as needed.

    Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial data with discretion and integrity.

    Administrative Duties: Organize records, manage financial filing systems, and respond to finance-related inquiries.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) are a plus.

    Experience: Prior experience as a bookkeeper, accounting clerk, or in a similar role is highly desirable.

    Accounting Knowledge: Proficient understanding of GAAP and bookkeeping practices.

    Attention to Detail: Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

    Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.

    Time Management: Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.

    Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with internal teams and external vendors.

    Ethics: High standard of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.

    Tech Proficiency: Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (or other spreadsheet applications).

    Adaptability: Willingness to stay up-to-date on accounting software updates and best practices.
