Position Overview
The Accounting Assistant will support both the accounting and property management teams by handling multi-property accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, compliance tracking, and reporting. This is a detail-focused role that plays a critical part in keeping our operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions across multiple properties
Assist in monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintain and update tenant ledgers and owner records
Enter invoices, receipts, and journal entries into AppFolio
Generate reports for property managers and ownership groups as requested
Track and manage vendor W-9s, COIs, and compliance documentation
Assist with payroll entry support and timesheet verification
Help coordinate audits and assist with tax preparation support
Manage office filing systems — digital and physical
Respond to internal and external inquiries professionally and promptly
Provide administrative support to property managers and accounting team
Perform other office and accounting support tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in an office accounting assistant role
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general computer skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Experience with property management software (AppFolio)
Prior experience in the real estate or property management industry
