In this role, you will work closely with the Accounting department to maintain accurate financial records and ensure the company’s compliance with all legal requirements. Your responsibilities will include recording and verifying transactions, bringing the books to the trial balance stage, and completing tax forms. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.

Job Summary: The Bookkeeping / Property Management Assistant will support daily financial and administrative operations for a portfolio of residential and commercial properties. This role involves handling bookkeeping tasks, lease administration, and tenant communications to ensure the smooth and compliant operation of properties under management.
Responsibilities:
Deposit rental payments and record transactions.
Input accounts payable and maintain accurate records of vendor invoices.
Prepare and issue checks for property-related expenses.
Reconcile bank accounts and property financials monthly.
Track and follow up on violations to ensure timely resolution.
Manage and follow up on tenant repair and maintenance complaints.
Monitor and follow up on legal actions related to tenant or property matters.8.
Issue monthly reports to the Owners and Accountants
Draft and prepare lease agreements.
Generate and review monthly financial and operational reports.
Track and follow up on tenant arrears and coordinate collections as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems
Working knowledge of Appfolio
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
