We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Secretary/Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our legal practice by managing administrative tasks and bookkeeping responsibilities. This position requires proficiency in bookkeeper, typing letters and documents, and dealing with clients and law office matters. The Legal Secretary/Bookkeeper will ensure the smooth operation of our office while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Duties
- Manage daily administrative tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office supplies.
- Perform bookkeeping duties such as payroll and payroll taxes, invoicing fees, tracking payments, and managing accounts receivable and payable.
- Utilize software such as QuickBooks for billing and bookkeeping processes.
- Assist with legal issues for clients.
- Proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Maintain organized files for client records, correspondence, and financial documents.
- Collaborate with the attorney to prepare case files and assist in client communications.
Experience
- Proven experience in law office work.
- Familiarity with various legal matters and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail in written communication.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
