We are looking for an Bookkeeper to join our law firm! You will be responsible for the following:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and approving settlement distribution sheets for accuracy and prepare settlement distribution checks
- Preparing and lodging case expense checks and client loan checks
- Daily examination of credit card charges to ensure no fraud and match with an existing client matter
- Review and reconcile transactions for business and client trust accounts and maintain general ledger
- Preparing and issuing checks for operations activity.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
- Report analysis and findings to management team
- Prepare journal entries and assist in maintaining the month-end close checklist
- Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliation schedules by reviewing the general ledger activity and obtaining a full understanding of the account activity to support month-end reported balances
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Ad hoc projects, reporting, and analysis as needed
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements for the firm
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of prior experience in Bookkeeping
- Prior experience at a law firm, preferably a personal injury law firm, preferred
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Tech Savvy
- Expert level experience with Quickbooks, current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
