This is a full-time opportunity for someone who’s passionate about serving the community and has the accounting skills to match. We’re a grassroots nonprofit—more roll-up-your-sleeves than buttoned-up boardroom so we’re looking for someone who thrives in that kind of environment. As our Bookkeeper, you’ll be the financial backbone of our day-to-day operations. You’ll work directly with department heads to collect, input, and organize financial data, help develop our central billing process, and support accurate reporting across the organization. You’ll also work closely with our leadership team to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Nonprofit or city-contract experience is a huge plus (but not required if you’re eager to learn)! This role is ideal for someone with an accounting background, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and a passion for doing work that matters. Compensation • Salary Range: $65,000–$70,000 • Paid Time Off • Benefits available Responsibilities: • Manage financial records for multiple departments within the organization • Collect and organize financial data from various department heads • Input and maintain data using accounting spreadsheets and QuickBooks • Prepare financial information in a taxable format • Assist with budget creation, tracking, and reporting • Collaborate with a developing central billing department • Support financial reporting and ensure compliance with nonprofit standards • Adapt to fluctuations in funding, especially those related to city contracts Qualifications: • 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (nonprofit background is a big plus) • A solid accounting foundation—not just data entry, but understanding the “why” behind the numbers • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred, but not required • Experience with QuickBooks required • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • The ability to work independently and take initiative • Excellent communication and follow-up skills • Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus • A desire for a long-term position with room to grow • A service-oriented mindset and genuine care for the community Compensation: $65,000 – $70,000
