What You’ll Gain: • A mission-driven culture that values excellence, integrity, and joyful service • Exposure to a wide range of industries and business models • Ongoing education and opportunities for professional growth • Flexible scheduling during the off-season • Competitive compensation based on experience and value brought to the team Responsibilities: • Make sure accounts receivable/payable are complete • Properly record financial transactions • Ensure transactions are recorded properly in all ledgers • Perform bookkeeping duties: Maintain data on financial statements Key Responsibilities: • Handle full-cycle bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries (e.g., retail, real estate, professional services, construction, hospitality, and more) • Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and merchant accounts with accuracy and timeliness • Prepare clean and complete financial statements and monthly reports for client review • Manage general ledger entries, adjusting journal entries, and accruals • Coordinate with our tax team to ensure books are tax-ready throughout the year • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns (individual, business, and partnership) • Provide payroll support, 1099 filings, and sales/use tax assistance where applicable Qualifications: • Worked previously with basic accounting systems, QuickBooks, and Excel • Must exhibit exemplary problem-solving, communication, and time management skills • Must be well-versed in general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required • Minimum 10 years of bookkeeping experience across multiple industries • Strong familiarity with tax preparation for individuals and small businesses (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065) • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop, and solid Excel skills • Solid grasp of GAAP and accrual accounting methods • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple client accounts with attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—able to translate accounting into plain English for clients Compensation: $25 - $35 hourly
