SUMMARY: Under the direction of the DON, the immunization coordinator is responsible for the overall immunization program for the organization. Responsible to increase Borrego Healths immunization rates. Works closely with Charge Nurses, Providers and Managers to identify areas of improvement in the immunization process. The immunization coordinator is responsible to develop and implement the most efficient workflow for immunization administration and data management across the organization. Provides immunization data entry training to new and established back office personnel. Observes and evaluates Medical Assistants work to determine progress, provide feedback, and make suggestions for improvement. Assists the DON with monitoring the clinics compliance with immunization policies. Immunization Coordinator will be Borrego Healths point of contact for HIE efforts and with the different counties immunization registry. Assists DON in preparing for the flu season. Helps develop strategies to increase the well child rate, organization wide. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: * Assists in the development and on-going review of immunization data entry training into the SDIR, CAIR registries, EHR and HIE * Works closely with EHR implementation team to develop the immunization module, immunization schedule, immunization inventory and other immunization related aspects of the In addition, of keeping NDC numbers and VIS statements current * Serves as liaison for the Health Information Attends Beacon and other related meetings and trainings as required * Works closely with the pediatric department chair to develop protocols for increasing immunization rates * Assists nursing department in developing/revising immunization related policies and procedures * Conducts an evaluation of Immunization workflow to determine areas of improvement, makes recommendations as needed * Develops strategies to decrease the immunization missed opportunities * Aids DON in monitoring that clinic staff send out immunization reminder recalls on regular basis * Regularly monitors compliance with VFC requirements such as accurate immunization inventory * Provides on-going training on keeping the cold Participates in the refrigerator monitoring system * Participates in the Safety and emergency preparedness sub-committee to ensure safeguard of immunization resources * Aids staff in the development of Vaccine adverse event reporting system * Work closely with immunization nurses or medical * Provides one-on-one staff training of registry, or EHR data entry * Collaborates with the quality department to conduct regular audits, obtain and evaluate patient immunization data * Provides trainee and supervisor with feedback on training * Works closely with Charge Nurses to provide action plans * Monitors the current Well child exam scheduling and recall system * Develops and reports various methods to increase scheduling of delinquent well child exams * Encourages staff compliance in scheduling every child leaving the clinic for their next well child physical appointment * Coordinates the ordering and delivering of the seasonal Flu vaccine in both Riverside and San Diego counties, as well as works closely with purchasing on the pre-booking and ordering of flu doses for annual flu season * Monitors monthly the Flu vaccine usage * Reports the usage of flu vaccine to the appropriate counties in a timely manner * Coordinates immunization and flu vaccine within Borrego Health * Coordinates massive immunization * Works closely with DON, Operations and outreach to connect with schools to provide immunization clinics * Represents Borrego Health in any County immunization related meetings and activities * Participates in trainings, in-services, and other agency required events * Provides nursing team with the most current immunization information and updates, as well as CHDP program developments * Observes Borrego Health policies and procedures * Collaborates with the Quality Department in quality improvement projects * Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: * Must have a certificate or diploma in Medical Assisting * At least 3 years' experience working in an immunization related field * CPR and First Aide certification through the American Heart Association * Strong knowledge of learning theory or principles to adult learning * Knowledge of training and instructional strategies and methodologies * At least 2 years of staff supervision experience * Ability to drive and travel to the different sites on a regular basis * Excellent computer skills * Ability to work well with others is a must Additional Information Learn more about us and view our current openings please visit our web-site at http://www.borregohealth.org/ Please follow the instructions below to apply for this position. 1.
