    Job Description

    We are seeking a research engineer with broad knowledge in sensor technology applicable to biosensors and in vitro diagnostics to join a diverse team of scientists and engineers working on the interface of biology and electronics to develop new technologies for biomedical research and diagnostics.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

    • Independently design and execute experimental designs, microfabrication, development and analysis of novel biosensors
    • Review and interpret data for presentation and contribute to project team meetings
    • Supervise interns
    • Stay on top of the latest research in the relevant fields, proactively researching potential new applications and products
    • Contribute to patent applications and scientific publications
    • Attend scientific conference and trade shows to promote the team’s research projects
    • Support academic and industrial collaborations
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • PhD in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proven track record of scientific accomplishment/patent filings
    • Biochemistry: electrical manipulation of biomolecules; practical experience with DNA sequencing or nanopore/nanogap experiments is a plus.
    • Electronics: experience with low-noise measurement and systems engineering (PCB and circuit design)
    • Fabrication: micro- and nanofabrication; basic understanding of microfluidics.
    • Computer skills: Matlab, Eagle, Igor, L-Edit, AutoCAD, basic coding.
    • Soft skills: highly motivated and passionate about developing new technologies and products; strong documentation, oral and interpersonal skills, experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
