    Job Description

    This opportunity is for the Summer-of-APIs internship in the Bosch Digital Business group based in Mount Prospect, Illinois (Chicagoland). This internship will focus on intensive IT technical architecture and includes technical activities spanning design and problem solving involving API architecture, API design and API Management (APIM) across Bosch on-premise IT and cloud landscapes. Depending on the candidate’s interest, opportunities to help shape new API business models by applying the API Business Model Canvas (and similar digital business/analysis techniques) are also possible.

    REQUIRED SKILL SET:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable degree (mathematics, or similar).
    • At a minimum, the candidate must be in the first year of developing new skills to program in Java, Python, Go and/or C#.
    • With respect to studies, the candidate should have already started 200-level course work spanning algorithms, databases, data analytics, micro-controllers, user experience (design), or similar.
    • The ideal candidate can cite at least one example of project (coursework) demonstrating software design and development. The ideal candidate can also highlight their code development activities outside of the classroom (whether this was in a past internship, previous job experience and/or open-source / development project based on a specific interest).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, positive attitude, willing and interested in problem solving and continuous improvement.
    • Able to work in a group setting with people of diverse backgrounds
    • Ability to perform tasks autonomously and complete work in a timely manner

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

    • Experience working with global teams
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Self-motivated to reach for excellence

    Additional Information

    To qualify for Bosch’s Domestic Internship Program, you must:

    • Be a full-time student or recent graduate (<6 months) at an accredited university
    • Maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA in a degreed program
    • Not now or in the future require sponsorship
