Job Description
The Mechanical Engineering Intern is responsible for applying mechanical engineering practices to support product design and development projects with limited complexity.
- The primary responsibilities include CAD modeling, tolerance analysis, drafting, test coordination, and field return analysis.
- Must have strong MS Excel competency
- The Intern role may have some cross-functional responsibilities in the context of New Product Development, productivity and sustaining activities supporting the ENG2 Product Development team.
- 2D and 3D CAD design of brake pad components to be used for tooling development and production.
- Perform applicable engineering computations to support design decisions. This could include stress and load calculations, dynamics and motion studies, and assembly calculations such as tolerance studies.
- Participate in sample and prototype assembly of engineered products.
- Participate in failure analysis and problem solving tactics in the context of functional reliability and Engineering testing.
- Creation of production Bill’s of Material and supporting component and assembly documentation. Basic knowledge and proficiency with drafting principles and techniques is required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
