    Job Description

    The Mechanical Engineering Intern is responsible for applying mechanical engineering practices to support product design and development projects with limited complexity.

    • The primary responsibilities include CAD modeling, tolerance analysis, drafting, test coordination, and field return analysis.
    • Must have strong MS Excel competency
    • The Intern role may have some cross-functional responsibilities in the context of New Product Development, productivity and sustaining activities supporting the ENG2 Product Development team.
    • 2D and 3D CAD design of brake pad components to be used for tooling development and production.
    • Perform applicable engineering computations to support design decisions. This could include stress and load calculations, dynamics and motion studies, and assembly calculations such as tolerance studies.
    • Participate in sample and prototype assembly of engineered products.
    • Participate in failure analysis and problem solving tactics in the context of functional reliability and Engineering testing.
    • Creation of production Bill’s of Material and supporting component and assembly documentation. Basic knowledge and proficiency with drafting principles and techniques is required.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Currently a BA/BS student enrolled in a Mechanical/Mechatronix Engineering program (or similar) at an accredited University in good standing (Sophomore, Junior or Senior preferred).
    • CUMULATIVE GPA OF 3.0 OR HIGHER (unofficial transcript required at time of application to confirm cumulative GPA)
    • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) required
    • Experience with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD
    • Must be able to work 35-40 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
    • MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE US WITHOUT VISA SPONSORSHIP (no J1, F1 or OPT visa holders).
