    Job Description

    This role requires a collaborative leadership style and will work closely with other engineering leaders and product management leaders to provide a suite of sensing devices that deliver value to the market.  Specifically, we are looking to augment our team with a leader who is both passionate about products and passionate about developing talent.  The responsibilities of the role include:

    • Lead multiple cross-functional product development teams, focused on developing intrusion detection devices and technologies as part of integrated security solutions for commercial buildings (IoT systems).
    • Products and technologies include motion detectors, glass break detectors, temperature detectors, humidity detectors, distress buttons, PIR, radar, optics, signal processing
    • Driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement; you will guide the performance of your team by communicating clear organizational goals and providing ongoing feedback. 
    • Overseeing and mentoring a team day to day to reach their delivery and learning goals.
    • Provide direction in design for quality, cost efficiency, performance, usability and manufacturability based on Bosch engineering processes and quality standards.
    • Responsible for developing products and technologies compliant to; legal, regulatory, industry standards, data security, data privacy and other global standards. Maintain working relationships with regulatory labs and agencies.
    • Create partnerships with the varied business stakeholders to achieve business results.  Model behavior to ensure your engineering team approaches tasks with a teaming and collaborative spirit.
    • Perceptive understanding of the ‘big picture’ to better support your team when prioritizing competing obligations. 
    • Communicate technical ideas, solutions and project progress to executive management.
    • Passion in fostering a diverse work culture that encourages individual decision-making and innovation.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    The Sensors Engineering Manager reports to the Director of Engineering.  The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a track record of designing and delivering consumer electronics to mass production.  This technical leader should have both management experience and product development experience across the entire product lifecycle from concept to sustainment.

    THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION (WITH SOME REMOTE FLEXIBILITY) LOCATED IN FAIRPORT, NY

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in a computer engineering, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
    • 6+ years of leadership and management experience in an engineering field.
    • 1+ years of experience working with international teams.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledge of:
      • Security System Products
      • FCC, CE, UL, EN, data security, data privacy and other standards
    • Working knowledge of RF technologies.

    TRAVEL EXPECTATION: Occasional domestic travel (less than 10%).
