Job Description

THE HIRED APPLICANT WILL BE EXPECTED TO COME INTO THE MOUNT PROSPECT OFFICE. ONLY LOCAL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

1. Support the management our Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure product safety information is available to our suppliers and customers.
2. Maintain an updated and accurate list of all chemicals and hazardous materials onsite while supporting all local and federally required documentation    
3. Support the Contractor Safety program to ensure all required documentation is completed and HSE requirements are communicated appropriately   
4. Support the training and awareness of health and safety to employees and new hires by maintaining safety newsletters and other communication channels    
5. Conduct routine safety inspections throughout the facility with emphasis on 5S, electrical safety, machine guarding, waste handling and chemical storage.
6. Assist with internal HSE audits
7. Support facilities with day to day operation and activities as needed

Qualifications

1. Enrolled in an accredited academic program relating to health & safety, facilities or engineering program or have graduated within the past six months
2. Minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA
3. Strong detail orientation
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
5. Proficient MS Office skills
6. Experience working in a lab environment is a plus
7. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
8. Must be able to successfully complete a drug and background screen pre-employment
9. Position only open to students who will not now, nor in the future require sponsorship to work in the United States
