Internship - Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineer (Starting January 2020/Year Round)
Job Description
Support the North American Powertrain Solutions Business Unit Air Management with the development of robust testing and validation setups including especially the testing of DC-motors and ASIC sensors (SENT protocol). Activities include mechanical setup of test benches, electrical wiring and development of circuits. Programming skills in C/C++ for LabWindows CVI, Labview, Matlab, and/or FPGA (VHDL) are preferred. Training and daily direction will be provided by a Senior Development Engineer as well as the complete development team.
Qualifications
Experience: Programming C/C++ (Labwindows/CVI), Matlab, FPGA (VHDL), electrical circuit development (analog & digital), SENT protocol programming are preferred. Previous internships in a technical role are beneficial.
Education: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering, technology, or similar with at least 4 semesters completed. Junior and Senior class standing preferred. A minimum 3.0 GPA.
Other Skills: Experience with portable test equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, angle encoders, etc.), solid computer and programming skills. Experience with automotive systems and problem-solving skills is a plus.
Preferred proactive approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on team work. Preferred entrepreneurial approach and comfortable in a highly dynamic, high pace work environment.
