The primary focus of the HR Intern is broader based HR projects and Associate Development- this is a tremendous opportunity to learn and explore various HR topics in preparation for launching your HR career!
Potential HR projects could be in the areas of compensation analysis, event planning/support, HR Analytics, talent acquisition and talent management.
The Associate Development department is responsible for planning, organizing, facilitating, and coaching associates and leaders on development programs and topics with a primary focus on the Mount Prospect location. Routine tasks will include scheduling workshops; locating and reserving training rooms; communication of upcoming trainings and seminars; organizing catering; material preparation for upcoming workshops and seminars; greeting the facilitator upon arrival for workshops and seminars; room set-up and reset at the end of a training event; and, managing payment requests. The Associate Development Intern must be able to lift and move 25lbs. Complete those tasks and push the HR team for more- we want that initiative and drive to learn and explore!
Qualifications
Must be working towards a degree in Human Resources and have an interest in exploring generalist HR topics and learning the basics of Associate Development. This internship requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, organizational skills, and exceptional communication skills combined with an intellectual curiosity to learn. This will be a year long internship so you must be able to commit to 40 hours a week- meaning most of your classes will need to be evening oriented and within a reasonable commute of the Mt. Prospect location. Only students in the immediate Chicago market will be considered.
