Job Description

Flat Rock Proving Grounds is seeking an experienced Technician - Performance Driver. Responsibilities to include but not limited to Precision/Performance Driving, Driver Training, Vehicle Maintenance, and general Proving Grounds support.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Perform Bosch Drivers Training to internal engineers and external customer organizations
• Perform vehicle maintenance on drivers training vehicles (tires, brakes, suspension components, etc.)
• General support of Drivers Training program, trailer maintenance, travel tool box inventory, record keeping, etc.
• General Proving Grounds support
• Support Application Engineering teams with precision/performance driving testing (DVP, VPS, VTC, DARE and other customer specific testing procedures)
• Ability to debug, troubleshoot and repair various sensor and instrumentation issues.
• Perform brake and tire burnishes according to defined OEM procedures
• Prepare vehicles for testing (adding ballast, outriggers, creating projects in MM6, downloading software, etc.)
• Support the transportation of prototype vehicles between various Bosch locations
• Provide driver/test support at off-site locations word wide
• Advanced computer skills with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Dynamic team player with a “can do” attitude

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Up to 8 weeks required annual travel, mostly during winter for Winter Testing in Baudette, MN.
• Willing to work overtime, per business needs, including seasonally required overtime to support winter tests.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Routinely moving and lifting up to 40lbs, removing ballast, equipment, tires, rims, etc.
• In vehicle 6-8 hours per day
• Traveling to off-site location (flying/driving) 20%

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid US Drivers License
• 3+ years as a driving instructor at an accredited driving school/institution
• Automotive maintenance experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree
• 3+ years experience with OEM or Tier 1 supplier in performance driving
• 3+ years automotive racing experience
• Driving Certifications at an OEM or Tier 1 Proving Ground
• CPR, AED and first responder certifications
