    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking to add a Finance Intern to our San Diego, California office. Our business focuses primarily on providing professional and technical services in engineering design, code consultation, and construction phase services for a wide variety of clients both in the private and public sectors. We execute large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services.

    This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Financial Analyst Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, reporting, and decision-making within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our finance team to support various economic activities and projects.

    • Assist in financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making and planning.
    • Prepare financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor performance.
    • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to track performance against targets.
    • Support month-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, analyze results, and develop actionable insights.
    • Assist in ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by the finance team.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
    • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
    • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a substance abuse test.
