    Job Description

    As Vehicle Systems Engineering Intern you are responsible for supporting the development of requirements at vehicle level and vehicle motion systems (electric powertrain, brake and driver assistance) for various vehicle classes. You collaborate with the design team to define, develop, implement and validate effective vehicle systems solutions. Vehicle Motion Systems involves the networking and integration across several automotive domains (Active Safety, Driver Assistance, Autonomous Driving, Electric start from idea through all stages of development to release for production. Our extensive customer portfolio includes a spectrum of major manufacturers from luxury and sports car segments to commercial vehicles including highly advanced technical applications.

    Main Duties:

    • Collaborating vehicle development activities with customers, suppliers, as well as Bosch internal divisions and functional groups.
    • Requirements engineering at vehicle and system level (interface to stakeholder, bridge across all domains, in collaboration with component- and feature-owners).
    • Perform analysis and synthesis of vehicle features to derive requirements on vehicle and system level.
    • Creation of vehicle simulation models to optimize the system design and perform trade-off studies.
    • Actively participate in vehicle development (idea, vehicle definition, vehicle concept, vehicle implementation, vehicle validation, vehicle release).
    • Coordinate the implementation of the vehicle concept with consideration for all internal, external and legal requirements.
    • Occasional business travel - approximately 20% annually, both domestic and international
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements Include:

    • completion of 2 year's towards Bachelor's engineering degree, in automotive or electrical engineering   
    • 1 year of experience in the following disciplines:
      • Practical application of engineering methods (student team based, e.g. EcoCar, Robotics, FSAE)
      • Product or vehicle systems development including application of model based systems engineering (vehicle simulation, product design) and vehicle systems testing.
      • Proficient in application of Matlab, Simulink, GT-Suite, CarMaker, CarSim
    • Valid driver's license
    • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

    Preferred

    • Pursuing Masters in automotive or electrical engineering
    • Experience in Vehicle motion systems (electric powertrain, brake system or driver assistance) and respective actuators.
    • Developing vehicle test cases, validation plans as well as trouble shooting vehicle systems
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, results oriented (drives issue resolution)
    • Proven record as team player in international teams
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with professional and positive attitude
