  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The intern / co-op will help develop, simulate, and benchmark hybrid control algorithms for powertrain applications. Work packages include:

    1. Support controls system development for identified hybrid systems
    2. Modify the simulation environment to better capture transient engine and transmission behavior
    3. Help analyze system requirements and translate them to boundary conditions for the simulation models
    4. Run 0D / 1D simulations
    5. Analyze simulation results and suggest improvements
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Current graduate student in an engineering discipline
    • A minimum 3.0 GPA
    • Available for a 4-6 month internship
    • Prior knowledge of automotive systems, especially hybrids
    • Coursework / projects related to controls and simulation. Knowledge of powertrain control & vehicle simulation preferred
    • Familiarity with Matlab / Simulink required. Experience with GT-Suite preferred.
    • Existing experience working in an academic or industrial research environment
    • Ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
