    Job Description

    THERE IS AN IMMEDIATE NEED FOR A PURCHASING INTERN IN BURNSVILLE, MN.  APPLICANTS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO WORK PART-TIME HOURS (10-20 PER WEEK) DURING THE SCHOOL SEMESTER (DAYS AND TIMES FLEXIBLE WITH THE DEMANDS OF YOUR COURSE SCHEDULE), AND UP TO FULL-TIME DURING THE SUMMER.  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

    • Manage a project related to Supply Chain based upon department need and individual capabilities.

    • Support purchasing projects related to cost reductions or other continuous improvement efforts.

    • Analyze trends in cost, quality and delivery

    • Support strategic and technical purchasing on individual projects.

    • Create purchasing reports utilizing MS Office tools

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • JUNIOR, SENIOR OR GRADUATE-STANDING REQUIRED (STANDING AS OF FALL 2018).

    • SUPPLY CHAIN, BUSINESS, LOGISTICS, OR MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS MAJORS PREFERRED

    • Strong MS Office Skills especially for advanced excel formulas

    • Good understanding of Purchasing Principles

    • Good analytical and communication skills

    • Good multi-tasking skills

    • Experience with SAP, Oracle or other ERP systems a plus
