  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Combine information gained from customer engagements, simulation, analysis, and benchmarking into system and product requirements for thermal management of electric vehicles
    • Perform engineering work packages to design thermal systems, characterize system performance, vehicle impacts, and product requirements
    • Collaborate with product management and product development teams to define Bosch’s thermal management portfolio
    • Manage thermal system engineering laboratory activities including vehicle benchmarking & system tests
    • Lead and/or contribute to internal and external thermal system engineering service projects

    SYSTEM ENGINEERING ASPECTS

    • Use engineering analysis/fundamentals to solve challenging problems and quality check simulation and lab results
    • Define, execute, and interpret lab & vehicle benchmarking work packages
    • Use strong documentation and communication skills to finalize work packages and communicate complex concepts to Bosch-internal stakeholders, collaboration partners, and external customers

    PROJECT MANAGEMENT & CUSTOMER ASPECTS

    • Apply project management methods to track and communicate progress, coordinate team activities, identify roadblocks, and propose countermeasures
    • Regularly communicate with Bosch-internal stakeholders, collaboration partners, and external customers
    • Translate questions about thermal systems and product requirements into concrete work packages for global system engineering team 
    • Co-ordinate cross-divisional collaboration for thermal benchmarking and testing topics
    • Hire, train, and manage engineering students working in the vehicle lab
    • Potentially manage system engineering service projects for OEMs or Bosch-internal customers

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • BS or higher degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics engineering
    • 5+ years of technical engineering experience both individually and in a team setting
    • 2+ years experience with project management
    • 2+ years experience with engineering measurements and data acquisition

    PREFERRED:

    CANDIDATES WHO DO NOT MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS BUT WHO FEEL ARE A GOOD FIT TO THE ROLE ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.

    • Experience in thermal system design
    • Experience with thermal testing
    • Practical and/or professional experience with automobiles and/or automotive systems
    • Hands-on capabilities (e.g. machining and test-fixture build-up)
    • Experience with measurements and data acquisition software (e.g. LabVIEW)
    • Data processing experience. (e.g. MATLAB)
    • Experience with refrigerant systems
    • Experience with air-moving and fluid-moving products
    • Demonstration of strong communication skills
    • Design experience (e.g. Solidworks)
    • Experience with controls systems
    • Experience with customer communications
    • Demonstration of strong results orientation
    • Demonstration of strong problem solving skills (organizational and technical)
    • Simulation experience (Network modelling e.g. GT-Suite or Simulink, FEA, CFD, etc.)
    • Experience with requirements engineering
    • Interest in professional development and new learning/leadership opportunities
