    Job Description

    • We are seeking a Manufacturing controls system engineer self-motivated, innovative team player with a passion for working in a dynamic environment to support the automatic and semi-automatic oxygen line sensors. Responsibilities will include output stabilization and scrap failure reduction projects, supporting production through development of technical documentation, managing equipment upgrades, and working with vendors and internal employees to maintain and improve the line.
    • The controls engineer must work together with team members to maintain and improve quality and efficiency of the value stream. Working with the automatic vision / optical information systems and also working with programming language C/C++, C# is required. Good understanding of programming logic controllers (PLC) involving Bosch/Neexed is necessary. Expected to maintain, improve, or introduce systems to ensure performance and repeatably meet and exceed output and operational targets.
    • Support any maintenance of operating documentation, PFMEA, and Control Plan. Support all product groups, CIP activities and Policy Deployment objectives.
    • The position also requires troubleshooting and operation of production, inspection and measurement equipment, development and construction of new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment. Identify, specify, order, and implement new equipment and processes to meet future product / production demands and business objectives.
    • Implement & coordinate engineering changes (Change management), new manufacturing or product releases, and capacity increases including production parts approval process PPAP builds.
    • Investigate and solve root causes of manufacturing process problems, using 8D, Shainin methodology.
    • Identify and lead projects to improve cost, quality, delivery, utilization, and safety of manufacturing processes.
    • Coordinate activities including preparation, completion and closing of open points within international production network (IPN).
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BS in Electrical Engineering or similar field of study with 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing.
    • High level of teamwork, self-initiative, detailed, self-motivated and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
    • Ability to teach and work with all levels of the organization.
    • Preferred 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (relevant co-op/internship experience included).
    • Preferred experience with equipment maintenance and management (Preventive maintenance (PM), Total production maintenance (TPM) knowledge).
    • Strong problem-solving skills (Shainin, 8D Methodology, etc.)
    • Use of analytical skills to problem solve and troubleshoot.
    • Preferred project leadership skills, ability to prioritize workload and meet established targets, ability to manage and balance multiple projects at once.
    • Strong communication skills for collaboration with multiple interdepartmental personnel (such as operations, quality, logistics, and technical functions), and willing to receive and share information.
    • Preferred knowledge of Bosch Production Systems (BPS) and lean manufacturing
    • Preferred knowledge / experience with programming systems/languages of C/C++, C#, Python, SQL, PLC (Bosch, Rexroth, Neexed) etc.
    • Assist in implementation of MES (manufacturing execution system) and Industry 4.0 on new and legacy equipment.
    • Willing to travel nationally and internationally for training and supplier visits as required.
    • Track and evaluate key process indicators in order to implement IDC/yield improvements.
