  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but not limited to the following

    • Develop and design, or improve, existing automotive packaging, while meeting functionality and cost requirements.

    • Develop cost justifications for new/updated packaging requirements through Total Cost of Ownership analysis and calculations.

    • Communicate directly with packaging suppliers to request samples, test and procure packaging.

    • Work on process standardizations within the packaging department

    • Troubleshoot and perform problem analysis related to production, products and materials.

    • Work with other departments (Production, Planning, Quality, etc) in support of projects and departmental packaging goals and objectives.

    • Support in returnable management objectives, as needed.

    • Any other Special projects as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • Qualified candidates will have at least junior status and be a Packaging Engineering/Science or Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Major

    QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCY:

    • Minimum 3.00 overall GPA and a 3.5 GPA in their core concentration required

    • Demonstrated leadership and persuasive skills, strong work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit

    • Desire to contribute and learn in a team-based environment

    • The student must be available to work full time, preferably for a 6 month rotation
