    Job Description

    TEAM: System & Advanced Engineering is responsible for mechatronic and control system development for combustion engine, hybrid, electric, and fuel cell powertrains. We work with vehicle manufacturers and internal business groups to industrialize proof-of-concepts for advanced powertrain systems.

    The role supports data-driven US automotive market strategy development, powertrain system requirements evaluation, and powertrain development in IC engine, fuel cell and xEV applications. As an intern in this role, you will:

    • Leverage large datasets to help the team understand real-world usage of automotive applications (e.g. passenger cars, pick-up trucks)
    • Help define data-driven use-cases and user demands on powertrains among other key inputs to project tasks
    • Select and apply appropriate statistical, computing methods to large-scale data
    • Share knowledge by clearly articulating work and ideas to customers, managers, and key decision makers
    • Provide feedback and escalate any issues in a timely manner to the team
    • Extend and improve the existing data platform and suggest long-term best practices
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    1. Currently pursuing or completed undergraduate, graduate or PhD in Science, Statistics, Engineering or related technical fields
    2. Demonstrable experience with Python
    3. Proficiency working large datasets, building data pipelines and processes
    4. Ability to clearly and simply communicate technical concepts
    5. Enthusiastic and able to collaborate in a team environment
    6. Minimum 3.0 GPA
    7. Ability to work from Michigan

    Preferred Skills and Background:

    1. Programming experience in one or more - Python, SQL and R; including common data science libraries
    2. Experience of C++ and/or Matlab
    3. Experience with machine learning and implementation
    4. Working knowledge of automotive systems
